I take your privacy extremely seriously and this Privacy Notice explains the what, how, and why of the data that I collect when you visit my Website. It also explains the specific ways that I use and discloses that information.
The Data Protection Act (DPA), Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) seek to protect and enhance the rights of individuals. These rights cover the safeguarding of Personal Data, and protection against the unlawful processing of Personal Data. GDPR does not apply to information already in the public domain.
These definitions should help you to understand this policy. When I say “me”,“my”,“I” “he”, I'm referring to Mikey (myself). When I say “you” or “Data Subject” I'm referring to a living natural person who visits my website. “Personal Data” means any data that identifies or can be used to identify you or any person, directly or indirectly and that is not already in the public domain.
Data you voluntarily provide to me:
When you submit information using contact details on the Website, send me an email, engage with me on social media or by telephone, or communicate with me in any way you are voluntarily giving us information. This data will only be used for the purpose of answering your query or recording feedback submitted. I will not hold this data thereafter unless you expressly consent for me to do so.
Data that I collect automatically:
Similar to other commercial websites, my Website uses a technology called "cookies" and web server logs to collect information about how my Website is used.
Cookies are small text files that are stored by web browsers on your computer or mobile phone. When you visit a website, that site's server asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. These files often include an anonymous unique identifier.
Cookies and web server logs allow websites to store things like user preferences, time and date of visits and pages views to analyse web traffic.
I use “analytical” cookies which, in conjunction with our web server's log files, allow me to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting my Website and which parts of the Website are most popular. This helps me analyse data about web page traffic and allows me to improve my Website in order to tailor it to user’s needs. I only use this data for statistical purposes after which the data is removed.
On some of my web pages third parties may also set their own cookies (for example when you click social media sharing buttons or click on an link that takes you to an external website). I cannot access the data stored in any such cookies (nor can such third parties access my cookies).
By using my Website, you are deemed to consent to my use of the analytical cookies described above.
You can refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting in your browser, which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. Please consult your browser provider support for instructions on how to do this. Please note that if you set your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may affect the performance of the Websites.
I aim to ensure that your Personal Data is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I have put in place appropriate physical, technical and organisational measures to safeguard and secure the Personal Data that I collect.
To respond to marketing and general enquiries submitted.
I will hold any Personal Data received via an enquiry for a period of 12 months in order that we can contact any individual should any future accommodation become available.
We will hold marketing Personal Data for a period of 6 years with periodic reviews every 3 years.
At any time where I'm in possession of or processing your Personal Data you have the following rights:
Should you wish to exercise any of the above rights including the right to be forgotten (i.e for your Personal Data to be deleted) please contact: email@example.com
I regularly review and, where necessary, update my privacy information.
If I plan to use Personal Data for a new purpose, I will update my privacy information and communicate the changes to individuals before starting any new processing.
